10 Awesome Albums Made Entirely Of Outtakes
6. Conventional Weapons - My Chemical Romance
Though My Chemical Romance had given the rock world so much great material, it was clear that the band's potential to go on forever was most likely not in the cards. From interviews to long winded sessions, Gerard Way had always made it clear that the band would not last for too much longer after their 2010 record Danger Days.
While the band eventually went kaput after touring wound down in the early 2010's, the band did compile a few more tracks that came out on the compilation record Conventional Weapons. Right off the bat, this album is far from the masterpieces the band had previously made like the Black Parade, but every song on here is still fantastic on its own. There are some balls-to-the-wall rock songs to be found on here like "Tomorrow's Money" while other selections like "The World Is Ugly" show the band's fantastic way of constructing ballads.
The standout on the record is "The Light Behind Your Eyes," which was written by Way after reflecting on the band's final days together. It's anyone's guess as to whether we will see new material from these guys after their reunion, but Conventional Weapons still has some fantastic songs that deserve to be celebrated more than they are.
