10 Awesome Supergroups We Never Got To See

3. Anthrax w/Corey Taylor

Out of all the bands in the Big 4 of thrash, Anthrax has had somewhat of an identity crisis since day one. While other acts like Metallica and Megadeth have travesties like St. Anger and Risk in their discography, Anthrax's constant shifting of frontmen made them a bit difficult for even the most casual metal fans to latch onto. If there was any time for the metal community to be paying attention though, it would have been in the early 2010's.

After a failed attempt to start a new lineup of the group with Dan Nelson, the original plan was to have Anthrax come into the new decade with Slipknot's Corey Taylor at the helm. Being a lifelong Anthrax fan, this was originally a dream come true for Corey, with him coming by to jam with the guys on a few occasions. As time constraints started to close in though, Corey's managers stepped in to advise him to start working on Slipknot's new album immediately, which led to Joey Belladonna entering the fold again.

That's not to say that Taylor can't hold his own as a metal vocalist, even going so far as to jam with Anthrax onstage during their version of Bring the Noise. Given that Corey is known to work on many different projects at once though, here's hoping that he can add the thrash legends to his schedule sometime soon.
