10 Bands That Became One Album Wonders

2. Fun.

Towards the start of the 2010's, the rock movement started to move more and more towards the indie stripe of rock fan. Though you didn't really see an awful lot of rock on the charts aside from Nickelback's feeble attempts, the real interesting stuff ended up turning a few decent hits before falling off the map back into obscurity. While Fun. was no exception, it seemed like the future of rock for a brief moment on Some Nights.

Keeping the same type of trademark quirkiness of the indie pop around the same time, this group carved themselves out to be the best in the genre on this album, with the title track being a virtual rallying cry for the rest of the indie rockers behind them to follow. Going even further into the record, songs like It Gets Better and All Alright are amazing stabs at pop-centric rock, as Nate Ruess flexes his amazingly high vocal range.

Breaking up only a few years after the album's release, most of the members' solo careers have been relatively unbalanced, with Jack Antanoff becoming the breakout star by collaborating with everyone in the pop world from Taylor Swift to Carly Rae Jepsen to Lana Del Rey. Then again, since rock's relationship with the mainstream has seemed to drop off for everyone not named Twenty One Pilots in recent years, we might need Fun. back now more than ever.
