10 Bands That Got Over Losing A Lead Singer

7. Suicide Silence

When it comes to losing a lead singer, the idea of them passing away tends to be a tougher pill to swallow. As opposed to just growing apart or having creative differences, there's no real way to deal with the fact that one of your creative equals is suddenly no longer on this Earth to tell the tale. By all accounts, Suicide Silence should have been dead in the water after Mitch Lucker's death, and yet they managed to roar back with a vengeance.

It's not like they didn't have big shoes to fill though, with Lucker having a hand in writing some of the most essential Suicide Silence songs at the time. Bringing in Eddie Hermida, the title You Can't Stop Me really said it all for the group's new direction, as the band looked mortality in the face and stood in defiance to its limitations. While having a different sound than Lucker, Hermida's bellowing voice was still a nice fit for the riffs that were laying down, suggesting that they had only begun to tap their potential.

Granted, not everything has been on the up and up if the self-titled album is any indication, but there are at least the signs of something even greater on the horizon. After all, if death won't be able to stop you, than there's not too much to be worried about going forward, right?
