10 Best Hard Rock & Heavy Metal Live Bands Of 2017

8. RavenEye

If you’re an old-school rock-n’-roller that has an affinity for the simpler, halcyon days of ZZ Top, AC/DC and Steppenwolf, RavenEye are the modern outfit for you.

Mixing the soulful blues of frontman Oli Brown’s solo career with distorted rhythm guitars and heavy drumming, RavenEye are a band that get right back to their genre’s ‘60s and ‘70s roots. And – armed with raucous tunes from their aptly-titled Breaking Out (2015) EP and exciting debut album NOVA (2016) – this Milton Keynes power trio brought the old-school thunder in 2017, exceeding expectations both as a support act and in their own right.

Not only did these three hugely promising youngsters tour alongside the rock gods Kiss on an entire European leg, but they also laid out huge sets at both Download and Reading & Leeds Festivals, while finding time to headline their own US run to boot.

Clearly never ones to rest on their laurels either, RavenEye will make a grand return to British stages in January and February 2018, all set to rock venues to their foundations over the course of fifteen dates.

As they say, there’s no rest for the wicked and, based on their primal yet masterful live show, RavenEye are indeed pretty damn wicked!
