Of the most enduring and prolific bands to emerge from the grindcore genre, the volatile Napalm Death are also the most consistent. From their debut album Scum in '87 tol the present day, these angry nihilists have continued to push the sound barrier to its very limits, like this joyful little ditty from the phenomenal Apex Predator - Easy Meat.

Really, 'How The Years Condemn' is so devastatingly final it's amazing to think they have been doing this noisy, adrenaline fuelled music for nearly 30 years. The song moves along as one from the start with a spectacular focus on simply - smashing your ears in, with a proto-metal, rage filled riff and simple but destructive pummeling on the drum kit.

The gurgling screams of Mark Greenway hammer home the remorseful sentiments perfectly on lines like "It's the last chance to face the fears I have always known, Better that than to fear the unknown", giving the song a sense of self-loathing.  It is the tireless, intricacies of each member though that really unify on this wrecking ball, making it a strong message of intent from the West Midlands outfit

The song is simply a snapshot of the overall quality of Apex Predator - Easy Meat but it also sums up what makes Napalm Death such a force to be reckoned with. The years certainly haven't condemned Napalm Death on this evidence.
