The mystical piano playing gives the song a menacing quality, accompanied by fast paced riffs and heart-stopping drumming. The immense attention to detail in the atmosphere of the track gives it a definitively pummeling effect felt in the instrumental surges throughout.

Musical guru Mike Patton steals the show with an inspired vocal performance ranging from deranged to mournful, further showing his versatility as a vocalist. The vocal melodies change frequently as the charismatic talisman hollers, screams and spits his way through the emotive track, with the refrain "Leader of Men, Will you be one of them?" ringing out in a hypnotic fashion.
