10 Best Hard Rock Guitar Riffs From The 2010s
2. High Ball Stepper - Jack White (2014)
Look, Jack White was just on fire back in the early 2010s. He impressed the world with his first solo album, but apparently lighting struck twice for the wild haired madman of rock.
High Ball Stepper was unique in that it was purely an instrumental, but it was the perfect promotional tool to get the world hyped for Jack Whites second solo record Lazaretto.
When people thought Jack White had done it all, he came up with the riffs in this track. In many ways it was his biggest departure from the material he had done with The White Stripes, It still sounded like Jack White but his riffs and song structures had became more sophisticated.
He was still using that Jack White trade mark of making the guitar explode in the most frantic, and at times, alarming way, but the use of space between each part elevated the riffs above anything he had done before.
High Ball Stepper is almost 4 minutes of Jack White showing the world what can be done when the raw energy of the blues is unleashed into an electric guitar.
