10 Best Hard Rock Music Videos Of The 2000s

7. Twisted Transister - Korn (2005)

This was an example of a band not taking themselves too seriously. Lil John, Snoop Dogg and Xzibit all featured in this mockumentary-style music video, with the rappers playing alternate versions of the members of Korn.

Snoop Dogg played the enigmatic guitarist 'Munky' as a music purist, more concerned with matters of spiritual exploration than the hordes of girls throwing themselves at his band mates. Xzibit takes on the role of bass player 'Fieldy', who had a predilection for getting messed up and vomiting at the most inappropriate of moments. And of course, the gruff-voiced Get Low singer took the part of frontman Jonathan Davis.

It was a refreshing music video that saw the band make fun, not only of themselves, but the music industry as a money-making institution.

The lyrics of the track express the comfort that comes with finding music that speaks to you on a personal level, and more specifically, music that has a little more substance to it than your usual chart toppers. The concept for the video was a great way of juxtaposing music, with artistic intent agaisnt music made for the sake of making money, while packaging it all in a bit of 2000s fun.

Ironically, this video most likely cost a bomb.
