10 Best Hard Rock & Rap Cross-Over Songs

9. Come With Me - Puffy Daddy/Jimmy Page

In the late 90's, it was almost a signature for a hip hop artist to have their song featured in a movie. From Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" appearing in Dangerous Minds to the first solo outing from Pras on "Ghetto Superstar," hip hop was starting to infiltrate the cinemas in a big way. When it came time to find music for the Godzilla soundtrack though, Puff Daddy had a bit more grit in his delivery.

The entire track for "Come With Me" is centered around a sample of Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir," but the song takes on an even greater weight when Jimmy Page actually offered to lend his talents to the track. The song could have easily been a smash with the original sample, but the way that Page plays with the original melody gives Puff a bit more room to work with different flows.

The track's initial breakdown and intro also give the song a different kind of feel, almost as if we're entering a different universe where the confines of genre labels have been erased from the mainstream consciousness. The song may have gotten a bit overlooked over time thanks to the mediocre shelf life of Godzilla, but this song still sounds refreshing as the years have gone on.
