10 Best Hard Rock Songs Of The 2000's
8. All My Life - Foo Fighters
The beginning of the millennium was not very kind to the Foo Fighters. After making their 1999 album There is Nothing Left to Lose as a trio and adopting new guitarist Chris Shiflett, the band were at each others' throats when they went in to cut their next record. Main Foo Dave Grohl finally decided he had had enough and went on to play drums in Queens of the Stone Age to cool out.
Coming back together to jam, the band had a renewed energy that was palpable from the start. Instead of continue with the record cycle they had already started, the band decided to redo everything from scratch and came out with a more gutteral sonic punch.
From the beginning of "All My Life," Foos fans knew they would be in for something intense. As the subtle power chords seep into your brain, Grohl feels like a new frontman as he commands the band with an enhanced sense of urgency. The members have even gone on to say that the tune is the turning point at every Foos show where the audience absolutely explodes. With some of Grohl's greatest screams, "All My Life" is punk rock but with the Foos' trademark muscle.
