10 Best Hidden Tracks On Rock Music Albums

6. Running The World - Jarvis (Jarvis Cocker)

If you're going to play this song out loud, then please make sure there are no young children present.

Jarvis Cocker, frontman of Pulp and Michael Jackson's least favourite singer, released his first solo album in 2006, with the egotistical name of Jarvis.

Alongside a bunch of people who used to be in Pulp - which kinda defeats the point of a solo album, but whatever - Cocker unleashed his new project to a very positive reception. Fans who liked it will have been very pleased to discover a hidden track right at the end called Running the World.

Sometimes a song's message is kept intentionally vague by the artist. Not this one. This one spells its intentions out in capital letters.

Running the World is a protest song, in which people in positions of power are called something very rude by Mr. Cocker. Like, really rude. The rudest thing you could possibly think of.

In 2019, a revamped version of the tune was released after a campaign was launched to get it to the top of the UK charts in time for Christmas, which says a lot about the state of British politics at the time.
