10 Best Jack White Moments

6. Jack Obliterates a Crowd

We all know the types at gigs; the people who just stand there looking indifferent and unimpressed throughout all stages of the show. They might give the occasional half-hearted clap. Some even have the testicular fortitude to throw less-than-favourable looks at those who are dancing and actually enjoying themselves. At an invite-only Dead Weather concert in New York back in 2010 which included an audience of Liz Hurley, Sean Lennon and Mary-Kate Olsen, Jack became a little tetchy at the apathetic response of the too-cool crowd. By tetchy, I really mean that he launched a profanity-filled attack on the audience members and threatened to shove their free drinks down their throats, before throwing out an attendee in the front row for taking pictures of the band (quite often strictly prohibited at shows Jack is a part of). He later apologised and thanked the crowd for coming out, but it was too late. A recording of the rant was uploaded to YouTube the next day and spread around the internet like wildfire, with the incident being covered by Perez Hilton and Huffington Post.
