4. Billy Talent Billy Talent II
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2UktJtKpFw Billy Talent, and more specifically the voice of lead singer Benjamin Kowalewicz, are the marmite of the post-hardcore scene you either love them or hate them. Kowalewiczs distinctive tone makes any Billy Talent track instantly recognisable; in fact its fair to say that his scream-style in the bands first album was a little annoying (Nothing To Lose aside), however, by Billy Talent II, released in 2006, he had perfected it. Tracks such as Surrender showed the band had matured hugely for this record, and faster-paced songs such as Devil in a Midnight Mass and Burn the Evidence allowed the band to maintain the core fan-base. Red Flag and 'Fallen Leaves', perhaps the catchiest songs on the album, are now recognisable on a more mainstream level, and help to set the album apart as Billy Talents best effort to date, it's certainly a must-listen-to for any post-hardcore fan.
