10 Best Rock Bands With Only Two Members

7. Tenacious D

Some will know him purely as the star of Kung Fu Panda, School of Rock, and the Jumanji reboots, but rock fans will always recognise Jack Black as one half of one of the funniest bands to ever grace the Earth.

Black and his bandmate Kyle Gass met when they were both studying acting in the mid-1980s, forming a bond after climbing the famous Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.

Thus, Tenacious D was born, releasing their first studio album in 2000 and taking over the world with their legendary single, Tribute. However, it's not just the greatest song in the world that these guys are known for, as the likes of Wonderboy, Pick of Destiny, and Rize of the Fenix followed.

Though they've been joined by legends like Dave Grohl and Ronnie James Dio over the years, it's the enduring friendship of Black and Gass that has always been the main selling point of the band.

Their chemistry is off the charts, and both men's willingness to never take themselves seriously has turned what could have been an embarrassing side project for an actor into a genuinely genius musical act.
