10 Best Rock Bands With Only Two Members

6. Royal Blood

English musicians Mike Kerr (bass) and Ben Thatcher (drums) met whilst performing as part of a four-piece band called Flavour Country.

Kerr then went off to do his own thing, developing his own method of bass playing that saw him able to replicate much larger sounds through the use of effects pedals and various amp configurations. After a stint living in Australia, Kerr returned to the UK, got back in touch with Thatcher, and that was that.

The newly-named Royal Blood broke through with their self-titled debut record, one of the most original rock albums in quite some time. Despite having only a rhythm section to work with, every song on the album had its own distinctive feel and audiences lapped every single bit of it up.

All three of Royal Blood's albums have gone straight to number one in the UK; a phenomenal feat during a time period where rock music is less commercially viable than ever.

This group are living proof that great music can come from anywhere and that, no matter what they might think of themselves, guitarists are thoroughly overrated.
