10 Best Rock Music Albums Under Half An Hour Long

2. Ramones - Ramones

There's been a lot of punk on this list already, so it's only fair that one of the biggest punk bands of all time gets a mention. Recorded in just one week, Ramones' self-titled debut studio album from 1976 is still held up as one of the great first-time efforts in rock music history.

The leather-clad fictional brothers put everything into making this happen, churning out iconic songs and ending up with a a project that would be remembered on as one of the first fully-realised punk albums ever made.

Like any good record of its kind, Ramones features no songs longer than three minutes. The longest, I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement, is just two minutes and 35 seconds.

This allowed the band to stuff 14 different tunes onto an album that comes in at 29 minutes and four seconds. These include the sublime Judy is a Punk, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, and perhaps their most famous song, Blitzkrieg Bop.

Ramones set so many standards in punk music, and the success and legacy of this short, snappy album helped them to establish another one.
