10 Big Takeaways Foo Fighters: Medicine At Midnight - Album Review
3. Weakest Track On The Album
This was probably one of the hardest sections of the review to do because, and I don't want to sound like a suck-up here, the album is so diverse and great. Each song links perfectly to the next creating a unique album experience which has so rarely been the case on other Foo Fighters albums (more on this later). The dance-synth-hardrock style is polished and well maintained throughout the album to a point where no song feels out of place or noticeably worse than the others.
With that in mind, the weakest track, for me, is No Son Of Mine. Although this song was selected as a single, I do feel like it was a strategic move more than one that showed off their new musical style. After the release of Shame, Shame, there were question marks about their new sound but the hard-rocking ballsy No Son Of Mine was surely released thereafter to assure the more skeptical fans that they hadn't strayed too far from their roots
No Son Of Mine is a good song but it feels very repetitive and samey on an album that is anything but.
