10 Biggest Album Flops In Rock History

6. One More Light - Linkin Park

It's never easy when a band decides to switch genres. Not only do you have to have 100% faith in what you're doing, but you also need to have the songwriting power to win over the rest of your fans so they'll follow you to the next phase of your career. If there was any nu metal band who could pull this off, it would be Linkin Park, but One More Light was snuffed out way quicker than anyone could have imagined.

After coming off of a return to roots record with the Hunting Party, these former metal titans took a leap of faith into the world of pop, where they sank like a stone. Once the debut single Heavy didn't register with the public, the nu metal faithful ended up abandoning the project pretty quickly after hearing songs that sound closer to something like Avicii than anything associated with metal.

Though any band of Linkin Park's caliber could have recovered from a bad album, things ended up going south way too quick, as Chester Bennington was found dead in California just a few months after the album was released. One More Light might be a misguided record from front to back, but no one would have wanted the posterchildren of nu metal to burn out like this.
