10 Biggest Breakups In Rock And Roll History

1. Oasis

Can we just take a moment and appreciate the fact that Oasis lasted as long as they did? For almost two decades, the lads from Manchester managed to grace us with some of the best music of the Britpop era, along with two classic albums at the very start of the career. We have to appreciate it now, because there's a good chance that this band could have ended after day one.

From the very start of the Oasis empire, Noel and Liam Gallagher could not stand each others' antics, with one single reaching the top of the British charts consisting of nothing but them trading insults at each other. Brothers can always make up though...until that one day where it just becomes too much. Just as the tour for Dig Out Your Soul was winding down, Liam began to get overly paranoid, thinking that Noel had plotted the press against him.

Instead of talking it out though, Liam ended up storming out of a press conference and swinging a guitar across the dressing room. Not wanting to give him the attention, Noel took the guitar, smashed it, and went to his tour bus to cool out. This was nothing new though; Noel had always needed time to cool out whenever they had a blow up like this. When that tour bus pulled out of that stadium lot though, the chapter of classic Britpop was firmly set in stone.
