10 Biggest Metal Albums Still To Come In 2019

2. Tool - "Fear Inoculum" (30 Aug)

The subject of a new Tool album had almost become a meme until a few months ago, when the band announced that their latest effort would be coming out on 30 August. It's happening, finally, though boatloads of fans will be waiting for it to hit store shelves and streaming services with bated breath.

Tool hadn't quite hit "Chinese Democracy" levels in the wait for their fifth studio album, though the saga was veering close. Regardless, "Fear Inoculum" is now but a few weeks away. The band's first record since 2006's "10,000 Days" is something that hordes upon hordes of fans have been waiting for forever, and after well over a decade spent clinging to hope and tiny slithers of news, it's almost hard to believe that it's nearly here.

Regardless, a new Tool record being mind-blowingly great is one of the surest things in metal, and those live recordings of new tracks Descending and Invincible sound phenomenal. The band's back catalogue finally hitting streaming services on 2 August should make the wait a whole lot more bearable, too.
