10 Classic Songs That Secretly Inspired Oasis
5. Feel The Pain - The Real People
Of all the bands that helped to give Oasis their first push in the early days, people need to include the Real People in that company. As much as people like the Sister Lovers helped the Gallagher brothers out by giving them some time during their legendary gig at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, the Griffiths brothers were instrumental at this point as well, mentoring the band in the studio and taking them under their wing. And Noel seemed to return the favor... by taking their song and making it into a #1 hit.
By the time the band got around to recording Be Here Now, the days with the Real People had been a distant memory, with both bands going in completely different directions. When you take a listen to the chorus of their song Feel the Pain, it has similar vocal inflections and melody as what Noel would end up writing for their hit Don't Go Away.
The kicker is that this isn't even the first time that the Real People have had a problem over royalties here. As far back as the band's earliest albums, Chris Griffiths has talked about his band's fingerprints being all over songs from the early days like Rockin Chair and Columbia off of Definitely Maybe.
