10 Classic Songs That Were Recorded Incredibly Fast
4. Roll With It - Oasis
By the time Oasis had gotten around to recording What's the Story Morning Glory?, they were quickly turning into a well oiled machine. Coming off the biggest debut album in history with Definitely Maybe, the Gallaghers found their way to the countryside to record in the same studio where Queen had originally laid down Bohemian Rhapsody. Though there may have been some tough times ahead, Roll With It was a sign of good times on the horizon.
Compared to some of the more involved songs like Champagne Supernova and Don't Look Back In Anger, Roll With It was actually done in just a handful of takes on one of the first days of recording. Instead of laboring over it for hours and hours, Noel has said that the finished version of the song was actually just the second run through of the track, with someone doing something just a little bit better on the second time around.
Granted, that's not to say that Noel necessarily thinks this is his most brilliant work, going on to say that this was more or less just a stop gap in between some of the prime single candidates like Some Might Say and Wonderwall. As far as filler goes though, you can certainly do a lot worse than this little slice of pop rock perfection.
