The music video Anaconda was racy to say the very least. It came about at a time when twerking and curvy features were all the rage. It was extremely controversial, receiving many mixed reviews and took over the internet. Whether you loved it or hated, it’s impossible deny the mark it’s left in pop culture. Anaconda was a record breaker in terms of youtube views as it accumulated 19.6 million views in its first day of release, surpassing Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’.

Described as “Butts and Bananas”, the music video is set in an exotic rainforest where a group of curvaceous women are doing exercise sessions amongst other dance routines. The music video has all weird imagery imaginable and finishes with an awkward appearance from Canadian rapper Drake who receives a steamy lap dance from Ms Minaj herself.

Why Drake? It turns out he was never intended to make an appearance but Nicki Minaj bumped into him the night before at the studio and thus resulted in his random, somewhat hilarious cameo. In such a ridiculous video, it frankly makes sense.
