10 Criminally Underrated Beatles Tracks

9. It€™s All Too Much

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Oes9_poAIg A delicious slice of psychedelic pie from George Harrison on The Yellow Submarine soundtrack. The track begins with a screeching, wailing guitar before making way for a bendy organ line. Spattering drums kick in as the track drones, buzzes and jitters €“ it's like sticking your head into a beehive. No-one seems to be trying too hard as the melodies float through a drugged-out haze, held aloft by steady backing trumpets. It€™s a sound that has influenced scores of frazzled, psychedelic guitar bands over the years, from the (also criminally underrated) Boo Radleys, the Flaming Lips to more recent groups like Jagwar Ma and MGMT. As if to exemplify the knockoff nature of the track, Harrison even recycles a line from The Mersey€™s hit €˜Sorrow€™ as the song reaches its conclusion. At over six minutes, it may literally be €˜all too much€™ but it remains a chaotically exciting exploration of LSD-laced psychedelia.
