10 Criminally Underrated Thrash Metal Albums Of All Time
4. Forced Entry - Uncertain Future
Just an incredibly unfortunate band name on all fronts. However, once one gets past Forced Entry, the ear drum-rupturing results are more than worth the effort.
Look no further than 'Uncertain Future', an influential classic that helped change the game in the Seattle rock and metal scenes. With constant changes in tempo and tone, every track here is suspenseful and engaging. One's not sure whether to get up and go crazy or settle in and enjoy the complexities of the power chords.
As is expected in the world of thrash, the lyrics and general vibe here are of the utmost violent. Look no further than 'Anaconda', a horrifically grim track about death by giant snake. It almost goes without saying that it's considerably scarier than the campy 'Anaconda' films that kicked off in the '90s (although the sight of Owen Wilson trapped in a snake belly is pretty haunting).
While this technically precise, unrepentantly visceral work of art garnered acclaim, it never reached a wide audience. In turn, Forced Entry went from surefire world beaters to a niche group that faded into a disappointing level of obscurity as the years rolled by.
