10 Decent Albums With Way Too Much Filler

2. Self Portrait - Bob Dylan

Even in a decade as classic as the '60s was for rock music, you virtually couldn't touch someone like Bob Dylan. Given the amount of classic records he had under his belt at the time, Dylan was not being looked at as a humble songwriter, with people calling him the Voice of his Generation and leading them into the next stage of life. While Dylan may not have wanted to be on that pedestal, his attempt to jump ship on Self Portrait almost paid off.

Being easily the most forgettable album of Dylan's classic period, this double vinyl set was one of the most perplexing bunch of songs he had ever brought to the table. Billed as the real version of Dylan, this is by far the kookiest that you have heard of Mr. Zimmerman on record, trading in his signature pen game with joke songs as well as obscure covers of songs like Blue Moon and the Boxer by Paul Simon.

As a matter of fact, shouldn't Simon be the one covering Dylan at this point, since he basically is the only reason why he was able to break through in the '60s? While Dylan's mystique continues to follow him around into his twilight years, this was at least an attempt to break the ice and show that the Voice of a Generation could be fallible.
