10 Deep-Cut Alice Cooper Songs Every Rock Fan Should Check Out

2. Why Trust You

Much like the rest of the hair-metal movement, Alice Cooper's Trash-era has been largely forgotten to time - well, except for Poison of course, that one's a classic for a reason.

However outside of that stratospheric hit, little else from Trash has had the same lasting appeal, and Cooper has all but relegated that album to the history books. This is a shame because if you can get past the fairly standard hair-metal nonsense, Trash has some truly great songs, most notably the wonderfully venomous Why Trust You.

Like every other song on the album, Why Trust You is an ode to love and sex, only in this instance, Cooper is challenging an unnamed lady to prove to him why she's worthy of his trust, which from the sounds of things is a pretty tall order. Over the course of three and a half minutes, Cooper spits numerous innuendo-laden insults and makes a solid case as to why said woman cannot be trusted.

It's all accompanied by an incredibly catchy riff and stellar drumming that gives the song a real lift, and the anthemic chorus and nasty lyrics also make this one perfect to scream along to at parties.
