10 Double Albums Worth Hearing Start To End

2. Pink Floyd - The Wall

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpzxf_flm8M One of the finest rock operas ever written, The Wall is a powerful album that tells a unique story. Written largely by Roger Waters, The Wall is a wonderfully experimental rock album. It features a wide variety of styles, heavier rockers, spacey experimentalism, soft balladry, and even quirky, maniacal ravings. The Wall tells the story of a young man, named Pink, and the trials and tribulations of his life. After losing his father in the war, Pink has to deal with aggressively abusive school teachers, and overbearing controlling mother, and the collapse of his marriage. All these things build up inside of him until he finally slips into a drug-fuelled insanity, building a mental wall around himself to protect his mind from further pain. He is inevitably forced to tear the wall down and face the world, also having to face his own mistakes. A wonderful, ambitious album, The Wall is a band at its peak. Recorded in the bands finest period, a period that saw them release The Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here, The Wall is widely considered one of their greatest achievements. A memorable presentation, standouts such as "Another Brick In The Wall, Pt. II" and "Comfortably Numb" are recognizable to almost anyone with a mild knowledge of rock music. Powerful lyrics, amazing music, and an original story make The Wall a true masterpiece. Best of Album 1: 1. Mother 2. Another Brick In The Wall, Pt. II 3. Goodbye Blue Sky Best of Album 2: 1. Comfortably Numb 2. Run Like Hell 3. Nobody Home
