10 Essential Albums From 2019 You Need To Hear

5. Strength In Numb333rs - Fever 333

When Fever 333 released their much-awaited debut in January, many metalheads knew that this was going to be a fantastic year. Originally conceived by Jason Butler of the band LetLive, this album is an scorching mix of rap and hardcore to make a delightfully wild hybrid.

The band has a decidedly political edge in the vein of Rage Against the Machine. While the RATM comparison is fairly apt, this band definitely has their own slant, especially in the vocal department. Butler absolutely sells these songs with his ability to change from screaming to singing on a dime. It helps choruses to songs like "Burn It" sink into the deepest corners of your brain.

John Feldmann's production also does a fantastic job at delivering that final sonic bite that these songs need. Make no mistake, this is rock music that aims for the jugular. It's a no frills, thoughtful, ANGRY good time. The band is touring now and is being hailed as one of the most raucous live acts on the scene today. And if the band continues to release songs as good as this, those shows will be worth almost any musical bludgeoning.
