10 Greatest Comebacks In Rock History

4. Everything Will Be Alright in the End - Weezer

Throughout most of the '00s, it seemed like Weezer were in the process of digging their own graves. Though they had moved on from their breakup pretty well on records like Maladroit, most of the band's material post-Pinkerton floated between being lopsided or outright offensive. They may have been chasing an audience for a while, but Everything Will Be Alright in the End saw that nerd rock spirit being brought out once again.

Never before had an album title been so accurately named, with most of the track listing being comprised of modern classics and fantastic guitar solos across the board. After albums like Raditude and Hurley failed to find a more mainstream audience, these songs were something that the hardcore Weezer fans were dying to hear after years apart.

With "Back to the Shack" and "Eulogy for a Rock Band" leading the charge, this entire record shows that the band are done messing around and ready to kick some ass like it's 1994 all over again. Beyond just being a great album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End feels like a statement of purpose for everyone's favorite nerd rock band to get off their ass. Now that a decade of inconsistency was in the rearview, Weezer were making music for themselves rather than cowering to crossover potential.
