10 Greatest Hard Rock Anthems Ever

5. Thunderstruck - AC/DC

If you are ever looking for something gritty to throw on the stereo, you can't go too wrong with any AC/DC record. Whether it's in the Bon Scott era or the Back in Black screams of Brian Johnson, every one of the band's tracks is guaranteed to get the party going, with riffs that keep everything grooving from start to finish. Some of the band's songs may have a decent build-up, but Thunderstruck is one of the few that hook you in from the very beginning.

As soon as the little pull-off riff from Angus Young starts, you're already prepared for something awesome to happen. Once you start hearing the chanting coming through in the background, the drum hits from Phil Rudd put you right in the center of the rock show, with your devil horns aloft and loving every minute of it.

By the time you actually reach the chorus, the riffs that have already been played are enough to fill any other band's best slot. Never before has a song been so aptly titled, with every other word sounding like you're being given a shot of adrenaline and electricity all at the same time. There are plenty of AC/DC songs based around the foundations of rock and roll, but sometimes that's all you really need to make your audience move.
