10 Greatest Rock Music Cover Songs Of The 2010s

4. All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You - Halestorm

Between 2011 and 2017, hard rock band Halestorm released three EPs of covers called the Reanimate series. Or the “ReAniMate” series, because they had to be edgy.

The band, fronted by Lzzy Hale (no, that’s not a typo), covered songs by established rock artists like The Beatles and Metallica, as well as modern pop stars like Daft Punk and Lady Gaga. This song is a little bit of both - a poppier song from a band that has its roots in rock ‘n’ roll.

From the first ReAniMate EP in 2011, this is their version of Heart’s All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You.

The story of a woman who shares a single special night with a mysterious stranger, the song is given a serious kick up the rear end by Halestorm. Hale sings her lungs out, adding serious gravitas to this bittersweet tale, something severely lacking from the original.

Halestorm manage to do something here that few acts can pull off; take a cover song and make it sound like their own. Once you hear this version, the original will never be enough.

Sorry, Heart.
