10 Greatest Unconventional Christmas Songs Ever

2. About A Dozen Sufjan Stevens Christmas Songs

http://youtu.be/neC28UxqGks Sufjan Stevens is nothing if not ambitious. This is the artist who once set out to make an album for every single state in America. My guess was that after the release of "Illinois," which included a song about serial killer John Wayne Gacy, Jr., the other 48 states for whom he had not made an album requested that he not sniff around in darker areas of their history. Alabama wouldn't like the idea of a ballad on the Tuskegee experiment. With the release of Silver & Gold, his latest Christmas collection, he now has exactly 100 tracks of Christmas-related tunes. Some of them are simply his take on Christmas classics like "Joy to the World" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas," but amongst his plethora of Christmas songs, he's contributed a number of his own originals. New classics like: Did I Make You Cry on Christmas Day? (Well, You Deserved It!) Come On! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance! Get Behind Me, Santa! Lumberjack Christmas/No One Can Save You From Christmases Past Christmas Unicorn Particle Physics That Was The Worst Christmas Ever! While he does cover many of the more conventional Christmas songs, he always adds an interesting take on them, breathing new life into songs you thought had been well-worn by the likes of Mariah Carey and Michael Buble. Check out his "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" rendition above. Some say it's creepy, I say it's sexy, but that's probably just because I'm creepy.
