10 Hard Rock Bands That Made The Same Song Twice

7. Megadeth - A Tout Le Monde

While the worst thing that ever happened to Dave Mustaine was being kicked out of Metallica, it was the best thing to happen to we hard rock devotees. Mustaine formed Megadeth in the aftermath and, in the years since, has delivered some of the tastiest rock and metal bangers our earholes have ever swallowed. And amongst the best of these is A Tout le Monde.

The song, which literally translates from French as 'to everybody', was originally released on 1994's Youthanasia, and served as one of the record's two singles. Not only was the song a modest hit in its own right, but the experimentation with a French-language chorus went down well with fans, who weren't taking quite so kindly to Metallica's '90s experimental phase (it's not a phase, mum!). But Mustaine himself wasn't satisfied, having envisioned the track as a duet.

Thus, 13 short years later he re-recorded it as À Tout le Monde (Set Me Free) with Lacuna Coil's Cristina Scabbia on co-vocals. This version tunes the guitar back up to standard (versus the original's half-step down) in order to find a middle ground between Mustaine and Scabbia's vocal ranges, and picks up the tempo, all of which result in the song having a little more oomph and a little less melancholy.
