10 Hard Rock Bands That Need To Be In The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

9. Korn

The rock community as a whole has always had a somewhat complicated relationship with the nu metal genre. For years, both fans and critics alike have struggled with whether this fusion of rap and rock was either good or a horrible mistake that's best left in the past. Regardless of what you may think of these tunes now, you can't deny that Korn wasn't unique for their time.

Ever since their debut, Korn has been one of the poster children for the nu metal genre, with Jonathan Davis practically creating the meandering vocal approach that made the genre so disturbing in the first place. Along with just setting the boundaries from a visual perspective, Korn were also the first to really tune down their instruments to unheard-of levels, bringing that weight to their sound that both they and the rest of the metal world at large thrives on today.

Most of these accolades should give you a one way ticket to the Hall based on innovation alone, only to be glossed the past few times around. Despite being eligible for the past 2 years, Korn have never so much as warranted a nomination, which is probably a testament to the Board of Directors' feelings towards the genre than anything else. If you take Korn out of music history though, you're losing a good chunk of what the '90s sounded like.
