10 Hard Rock Bands That Need To Be In The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

3. Alice in Chains

A lot of the Rock Hall's picks in the past few years have come from more of a critics' perspective. Instead of just going with the people who have held up over time, the name of the game has typically been reserved for those who are important rather than actually fun to listen to. If that is indeed the case though, Alice in Chains have needed to be in the Hall of Fame for years now.

While they may not have been the brightest stars of the grunge movement, you'd be hardpressed to find any hard rock (or rock fan in general) who can say too much bad about AOC. Off the strength of Layne Staley's vocals alone, the songs of Jerry Cantrell turned into rock and roll works of art when it comes to albums like Dirt and Facelift. There's even some diversity in there too, considering their way with harmonies and phenomenal unplugged work on records like Jar of Flies.

I mean, if you really want to get pedantic, Alice should be the one responsible for putting grunge on the map, considering their lead single Man in the Box broke through the rock charts long before Nirvana's Nevermind took over the airwaves. For as much as you might want to nitpick parts of their sound, Alice in Chains' accolades should begin and end with amazing rock music.
