10 Hard Rock Bands That Need To Be In The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
2. Rage Against the Machine
A lot of what goes into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is much more indebted to the history of rock and roll. Being as much a museum as it is an actual institution of taste, the Hall's primary focus seems to be chronicling the amazing acts that have laid the groundwork for what rock and roll looks like today. If that's the case though, Rage Against the Machine should have been up for inclusion from the first second they were eligible.
I mean, Tom Morello even serves on the board as one of the contributors to the nominations, which has led to some long overdue acts getting in like KISS. Weird nepotism aside, the amount of kickass in Rage's records still stands as some of the best concentrated anger that the music world has ever seen. From their first record all the way to the Battle of Los Angeles, there's practically no sore spots in their discography, as each member pushed themselves to the brink of creativity.
While some higher-ups not like to get that political when deciding who gets into the Hall, that argument was pretty much voided the second you put someone like Bob Dylan in back in the day. Whether or not you even agree with their political stance or not, Rage's music holds a distinct place in the shape of modern rock, metal or otherwise.
