10 Hard Rock Bands That Need To Be In The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

1. Judas Priest

Over the past few years, it seems that the Hall is somehow finally coming around on metal music. Since there is no clear distinction of what constitutes rock and roll, the inclusion of Black Sabbath in the mid '00s opened the door for a lot of the heavier side of rock to come out of the woodwork. While you have acts like Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin who have been in for years, there needs to be some respect paid to the metal ministers who started it all.

Whereas Sabbath gets the distinction of being the first metal band, Judas Priest were the first to really take the mantle and run with it. Across over 50 years of making music, the Priest's catalog is practically a smorgasbord of everything that metal has to offer, whether it's the wailing leads from KK Downing and Glenn Tipton or the stratospheric screams coming from Rob Halford. Granted, not everything has been rosy (after all, Turbo exists), but that doesn't diminish their impact, influence, and awesomeness throughout their tenure.

Given all of the lip service paid from every metal band in existence, the fact that the Priest haven't graduated to the Hallowed Halls of Rock just makes the institution look more and more out of touch by the day. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will most likely see the error of their ways eventually...they just might need some divine intervention from the Metal Gods.
