10 Hard Rock Bands Who Had TWO Great Singers

8. Paul Stanley/Gene Simmons - KISS

Many hard rock fans likened KISS to a hard rock version of the Beatles, and you can really hear why when you listen to their first records. From the way they composed hooks to their democratic band members, these New Yorkers were clearly influenced by the works of the Fab Four. This even carried over to the band dynamic of two equally strong frontmen.

While we will politely excuse the great vocal stylings of Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, the lifesblood of KISS has always been the vocal chops of Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. Both of them were great songwriters along with having a unique vocal timbre that worked off each other perfectly.

In terms of their hard rock chops, Paul Stanley was more of the seasoned singer whose voice seemed to be a more theatrical version of Robert Plant's. On the other side end of the spectrum, Simmons's natural voice was great but was at his best when he was growling each word he sang.

Not only did this go over well with his Demon persona, but also paved the way for the heavy metal singers that would come further down the line. KISS may have had their naysayers back in the day, but these two men have truly forged a comrades-in-arms relationship as the ambassadors of hard rock.
