10 Hard Rock Bands Who Kept The Same Lineup

9. Alter Bridge

There's a certain type of rock fan who was absolutely gutted when Creed ended up going their separate ways at the dawn of the 2000s. Right when nu metal started to become the new norm, this post grunge act was keeping the heart of rock alive, albeit with the nasal whine of Scott Stapp. The age of hard rock seemed to be over, but the band's reinvention as Alter Bridge has proved to be much more fruitful.

Though the band already had some great chops back in the late '90s, this new outfit shows them operating on a much more visceral level, with riffs and tempos that are much more metal-tinged than Creed could have ever hoped to be. In lieu of Stapp's typical yarl, Myles Kennedy has turned into one of the greatest hard rock singers of the modern age, with one of the broadest ranges in the entire game.

From the guttural lows to near-operatic high notes, Kennedy gave the band a shot in the arm and led them to classics like Blackbird and ABIII. Even when not operating under the band name, each member is able to flex their chops in solo projects, with Mark Tremonti's namesake solo band and Kennedy working with Slash. Rock may not be in the spotlight anymore, but acts like Alter Bridge are proving that it's nowhere near on its deathbed.
