10 Hard Rock & Metal Bands Who Have NEVER Changed Lineups
2. Linkin Park
The heavier side of rock was in a bit of a rough patch as the '00s started to dawn. Though acts like the White Stripes and Interpol may have been covering the more underground sides of rock and roll, the era of nu metal had really started to wear out its welcome, with acts like Puddle of Mudd starting to get more and more insipid with each passing song. However, Linkin Park emerged as one of the few nu metal acts that felt genuinely amazing.
With the release of Hybrid Theory in 2000, these California natives absolutely exploded, eventually going on to sell over 10 million copies of their debut. That's not without some amazing talent behind the scenes either, with Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda trading off some of the most vicious verses of the era. Compared to usual cut and dry nu metal bands, it truly felt like a passion project seeing these guys at work, with Brad Delson coming up with one sludgy riff after another and Joe Hahn adding just the right sonic touches as the band's DJ.
Even when Bennington was found dead in 2017, Linkin Park wasn't going to go on without acknowledging it, with one piece of their logo omitted to represent the disillusionment of the original brotherhood. While it's up in the air what they will do in the future, when it comes to Linkin Park, you're not going to get something anything less than heartfelt.
