10 Highly Underrated Rock Music Album Covers

8. Suck It And See - Arctic Monkeys

Rock history is full of examples of ultra-simple album covers.

The Beatles' self-titled 1968 double LP featured a plain cover, leading it to be known in most circles as "The White Album". Metallica pulled the same trick two decades later, releasing "The Black Album" to critical acclaim. And then, in 2011, British indie rockers Arctic Monkeys brought out this minimalist masterpiece.

Suck It and See, the group's fourth album, drew plenty of attention due to its rather provocative name. In fact, in certain American stores, the title was covered up with a large sticker!

Unfortunately, the title is the main feature on the album cover, which is just those four words written in black against a white/cream background. Did Alex Turner forget to submit his artwork ideas on time? Nope. This was all by design.

The phrase "Suck It and See" means to give something a try; you'll only know what something is like if you find out in person. That's exactly the vibe the Monkeys wanted to give off for this ultra-slimmed down, very simplistic record; if you want to know what this album is about, you need to try it for yourself.
