10 Horrible Hard Rock Songs By Great Artists

9. One in a Million - Guns N Roses

Most hard rock fans remember the exact moment when they heard Guns N Roses. Whether it was one of the band's larger than life ballads or the street rat take on rock and roll that they hammed down in their early years, there was a never ending well of great material coming from Axl Rose's pen and Slash's guitar. However, once you put an acoustic guitar in Axl's hands, things had to start getting weird.

For the most part, GNR Lies is a pretty good offering from the band, serving as a bit of an acoustic palette cleanser with the brilliant ballad "Patience," but the EP ends with a pretty sour tone. Sporting a more aggressive delivery, "One In a Million" is Axl Rose at his most venomous, but that doesn't necessarily make it good.

The attitude is definitely there, but everything falls apart if you vaguely pay attention to the lyrics. Throughout the track, Rose throws out racial and homophobic slurs that are a lot more antagonistic than he probably thought it would be. Rose did end up trying to defend the lyrical content, but this was one of the first times you saw one of the most badass rock and roll bands starting to head south. There would be better material later, but this acoustic cut is something you can definitely skip.
