5. When We Stand Together
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y96WY5Do_bs More light-hearted songs which would appeal to a broader audience, just like 'When We Stand Together'. Truthfully, there are cracks beginning to appear in the Nickelback formula by this point - the song itself is little more than a piece of fluff. Somewhere along the road, Kroeger and his band of merry men decided they really wanted to be like Bob Geldof, rock stars turned social commentators, and in that respect, they've achieved their goal. Ironically, Geldof's work was a focal point of another single from the band, 'If Everyone Cared'. The middle hook, where the drums take centre stage, sounds more like a Toto track than a hard-rocking classic, but the fact remains that Nickelback had a lot of heads nodding with this one, one of the lead singles from the 2011 record, 'Here And Now'.
