1. Twisted Sister - Leader Of The Pack
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUydoCIyaNY Original Artist The Shangri Las (1964)Released 1985 (Come Out And Play) A by-product of the 70s glam rock scene, Twisted Sister was at the forefront of the heavy metal resurgence of the 80s with their fist-pumping anthems and memorable stage performances that established them as true pioneers of their field. Along with their innovative clips for some of their biggest hits they have stood the test of time and were instrumental in the birth of the MTV Generation. Although tracks like Were Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock have achieved cult status and are staples both on mainstream radio and pop culture to this day, some of their lesser known tracks have fallen to the wayside in recent years. One of which is this cover of iconic 60s pop girl group The Shangri Las biggest hit, Leader of the Pack. Accompanied by their now infamous tongue-in-cheek film clips that revolutionised how bands promoted their songs visually, Leader of the Pack has been embraced by the Twisted Sister fans as one of their own. Even though the style they are emulating may be on the opposite side of the spectrum in terms of musical genre, they breathe new life into this teen melodrama about forbidden romance. And since reforming at the turn of the millennium after over a decade hiatus, Twisted Sister have continued to include this song as part their regular set, keeping it alive in the minds of fans for years to come. You cant stop their rock'n'roll.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life????
All demos, no albums ;)
