10 Incredible Frontmen Who Don’t Get The Credit They Deserve

3. Dennis Wilson

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHCzTLnFpLE The problem with being a part of an enormous, well known act is that often you will be swallowed by your own success. The late Beach Boys drummer - and the second Mr. Wilson on my list - was a highly talented musician with an ear for a tune and a wonderful body of solo work aside from his aforementioned more famous band. Despite most people€™s fixation with his brother Brian, Dennis was more of a force within the Beach Boys than many realise and his ability to take the band forward following Brian€™s breakdown ensured their longevity. Although never matching the levels of recognition and fame achieved by his Beatles' equivalent George Harrison, his melancholic yet hopeful solo work is also worthy of anybody€™s record collection, remaining relevant and authentic to this day. Sadly, Dennis drowned in 1983 leaving behind a second and unreleased solo album (which would later see the light of day posthumously). But whilst you may not be able to catch him live, we definitely recommend sitting down with Pacific Ocean Blue one evening. Always more than just €˜the drummer,€™ he also happened to be the only one in the Beach Boys who could surf, definitely affording him extra kudos. RECOMMENDED LISTENING: €˜Pacific Ocean Blue€™
