10 Indie Rock Bands That Released 5 Great Albums In A Row

8. Fugazi

Some of the more aggressive music listeners would balk at the idea of putting a band as heavy as Fugazi in the indie rock category. Though they might not have anything in common with the more outlandish stylings of others in the genre, the mindset of Ian Mackaye, as well as the various musical influences on display, pretty much check every box for what an indie band should be. If Fugazi is a part of the conversation though, there's no question as to their impeccable track record.

Even when not making a proper studio album, the band's real debut on 13 Songs set them up for a whole career of awesomeness, with punk thrashers intercut among the more slow and contemplative tracks. Up until the release of Red Medicine, the band remained pretty consistent as one of the most vocal punk bands on the scene, refusing to conform to any trends and doing whatever the hell they wanted to do.

In addition, the working-class mentality the band brought forth in their lyrics and attitude struck a nerve with their more famous contemporaries like Dave Grohl and Eddie Vedder. Though the band had soldiered on into projects like End Hits and The Argument, the pure punk bombast they made right out of the gate can go toe to toe with any other punk band in existence.
