3. Deadbeat Holiday
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSxnb-Z8iB4 Deadbeat Holiday is a song from the album, "Warning" that Green Day rarely, if ever play live. Starting off with just Billie Joe strumming an intro, it quickly turns up the speed when the drums and bass join in. One of the catchiest songs from, Warning," it comes across as rather bitter lyrics in contrast to its upbeat sound. The lyrics while describing a life that seems to have fallen apart ("Deadbeat Holiday, celebrate your own decay) also promotes the idea that change will come ("Nothing but hell to pay when all you want to do is not give up.") Warning was a more upbeat, positive album that alienated some Green Day fans. In retrospect however it is a fun, catchy album that even planted the early seeds for their political slanted future, with "Minority," being one of the standout tracks.
