10 Memorable Rock Bands Who Only Released ONE Album

4. FFS, FFS (2015)

Scottish indie rockers Franz Ferdinand and American art rock duo Sparks may have seemed a strange combination when the supergroup FFS was announced in 2015, but with the former being vocal fans of the latter, and the latter known for experimentation and an ever-evolving approach to musical creativity, it perhaps shouldn't have come as such a surprise.

Though they had been playing and recording together on and off since 2004, the bands' conflicting schedules prevented them from making any meaningful strides together. That was until they got back together, settling on the playful yet common sense initialism FFS for both the title of the new group and their debut album.

Released in summer 2015, the record is an experimental and quirky combination of Franz Ferdinand's indie dynamism and Sparks' profound strangeness, which keeps you on your toes throughout. Though most of the tracks might not be radio friendly, each is well worth its running time, and there are several stand-out highlights, including the opener 'Johnny Delusional' and the tongue-in-cheek 'Collaborations Don't Work'.

Both halves of FFS stated at the time that they planned to continue what was a fortuitous and truly original collaboration with a second album, but in the time since both have gone their separate ways to do other things, including last year's Adam-Driver-and-puppet-baby musical feature Annette.
